Privacy policy

Last updated: 26 September 2026

LAX Goalie Hub sells a daily training program for youth lacrosse goalies in grades 3 through 12, delivered by email, together with a small range of gear. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers our website, our store, and the emails we send.

Read this part first: our program is written for children

Most privacy policies say the service is not intended for children. Ours is. The athletes we train are roughly 8 to 18 years old, and a large share of them are under 13. We say so plainly because everything below follows from it.

The person who buys the subscription, holds the account and agrees to our terms is always a parent or legal guardian, aged 18 or over. We do not create accounts for children. But we do knowingly hold a small amount of information about the athlete, given to us by their parent, and from 9th grade we may hold an email address for the athlete themselves. That makes us subject to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, and this policy is written to meet it.

What we collect, and who we collect it from

From the parent, at checkout and in their account:

  • Their name and email address
  • Billing and, for gear orders, shipping address
  • Payment confirmation details. We never see or store full card numbers — payment is handled by Shopify and its payment processors
  • The athlete's first name only
  • The athlete's school grade, because the training content is organised by grade

From 9th grade only, and only if the parent asks for it:

  • An email address for the athlete, so the daily session goes to them instead of the parent. The parent types it in, the athlete confirms it, and the parent can reverse it at any time. We do not collect an email address for any athlete in 8th grade or below.

Automatically, when you visit:

  • Device and browser information, IP address, and how you move around the site
  • Whether our emails were opened and which links were clicked

What we deliberately do not collect

We hold no date of birth and no age. No home address for the athlete, no phone number for them, no photographs, no video, no voice recordings, and no location data. We do not ask about the athlete's health, injuries, weight, body measurements, or how they are feeling, and we do not store answers to questions like that. We do not collect information about any other child.

How we use it

  • To send the daily training session, the Sunday Parent Guide, and the account emails that go with a subscription
  • To choose which grade's content to send
  • To take payment, manage the subscription, and fulfil gear orders
  • To answer you when you write to us
  • To keep the service working and secure, and to prevent fraud
  • To send marketing about our own products to the parent, which they can switch off at any time

We never send marketing, promotional or survey email to an athlete's address. An athlete address receives the daily training session and nothing else.

Who else sees it

We are a small business and we use other companies to run it. These are the ones that hold customer or athlete information:

  • Shopify — our store, checkout, payments and customer accounts
  • Klaviyo — sends our daily and weekly emails; holds the parent email, athlete first name and grade, and an athlete email where one has been given
  • HubSpot — our customer records
  • Printful and Printify — print and ship gear orders; they receive a name and shipping address for those orders only

Each of these acts for us and under contract with us. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it so that anyone else can advertise to you. We have no advertising trackers on our site.

One thing we want to be straight about: Shopify, as the platform our store runs on, uses store data for its own product improvement, personalisation and ad-targeting purposes under its Additional Services Terms. That is a Shopify setting rather than something we do, and you can read how Shopify handles personal information in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and exercise rights with Shopify at privacy.shopify.com.

We will also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety, and information would transfer with the business if it were ever sold.

Children's privacy

How we get a parent's consent. The parent buys the subscription themselves, with a payment card, in their own name, and at that moment we give them a notice describing what we collect about their athlete, what we use it for, who receives it, and how to review or delete it. The card transaction together with that notice is how we obtain verifiable parental consent.

What a parent can do, at any time. As the account holder, a parent can:

  • Ask to see everything we hold about their athlete
  • Ask us to correct it
  • Ask us to delete it
  • Refuse to let us collect anything further, while keeping the subscription — in which case the daily session goes to the parent's own inbox
  • Remove or change an athlete email address, without needing anyone's confirmation

Email coach@laxgoaliehub.com and a real person will deal with it. We may need to confirm you are the account holder before we act.

We do not condition participation on giving us more than we need. The athlete email address is optional, always. Everything the program does works with the parent's email address alone.

No advertising to children. We do not use an athlete's information for targeted advertising, we do not disclose it for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models.

How long we keep it, and when we delete it

We do not keep personal information indefinitely.

  • While a subscription is active — we keep the parent's contact details, the athlete's first name and grade, and any athlete email address, because the program cannot be delivered without them.
  • After a subscription ends — we keep that information for 90 days, so a family who changes their mind can pick up where they left off, and then we delete it.
  • Athlete email addresses — deleted as soon as a parent removes one, or within 90 days of the subscription ending, whichever comes first.
  • Order and payment records — kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep them, currently seven years. These are records of the parent's purchase, not information about the athlete.
  • Marketing contacts — if you unsubscribe, we keep only enough to make sure we do not email you again.

Deleted means deleted from our live systems, and removed from routine backups as those backups age out.

How we protect it

Greg Sicotte, the founder, is the person responsible for the security of the information we hold. Information is encrypted in transit and at rest by the providers listed above. Access is limited to Greg and anyone contracted to help, two-step sign-in is switched on for administrator accounts, and we review what we hold and who can reach it at least once a year. No system is perfectly secure, and email in particular is not a secure way to send sensitive information to us.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, or delete it, and you can ask us not to sell or share it for targeted advertising — though as above, we do not do either. You can exercise the opt-out we are required to offer at Your Privacy Choices. We will not treat you differently for asking. We respond as quickly as the law requires, and we may need to confirm who you are first.

To unsubscribe from marketing email, use the link at the bottom of any marketing message. Account and program emails are part of the subscription and continue while it is active.

Where our customers are

We sell in the United States and Canada, and we store and process information in the United States. If you are in Canada, you have rights under Canadian privacy law, including in Quebec, and the same contact address below applies to you. We do not offer the program to customers in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle information about an athlete, we will email the parent who holds the account and, where the law requires it, ask for consent again.
